At U.S. Chemicals we strive to hire the best people possible, and to promote from within our organization. This is a service-oriented business, and we have built solid, and long-lasting relationships with all of our customers. This approach is achieved by building a small staff of well-trained individuals, with many years experience in the chemical industry. U.S. Chemicals’ staff has over 100 years combined experience in chemical related sales and service.
A Long History
U.S. Chemicals was founded in 1960 by Howard T. Von Oehsen. Howard always said, “if our customers are not successful, then we are not successful...our customers’ success is directly related to our success.” His business philosophy, still in effect today, is to offer optimal solutions to customers with highest quality standards. Thus, our core competency has consistently been to serve our customers with utmost business integrity.
Today, Carol Piccaro, second-generation family, continues to provide a standard of excellence established by Howard, her father. Carol began selling chemicals for her father 25 years ago in Buffalo, NY, and today is the President/CEO of U.S. Chemicals, with full ownership of the privately held company.

Company President and CEO, Carol Piccaro is a dedicated advocate of women in business and fully understands that being environmentally aware is vital in an industry not necessarily associated with being “green.”
U.S. Chemicals actively supports environmentally responsible manufacturers and distributors of chemical products and services, and thoroughly evaluates its suppliers for quality chemical compounds and sound environmental practices.
U.S. Chemicals is also an active member of NACD, whose mission it is to: “strive for excellence in its Responsible Distribution Process, to advocate sound government policies, and to promote the continuous improvement of member companies.”
Worldwide Presence
Headquartered in New Canaan, Connecticut, U.S. Chemicals is in close proximity to New York City, Boston, New Jersey and Philadelphia.
U.S. Chemicals also maintains twelve warehouses in the U.S., one in Ontario, Canada, and another in Barcelona, Spain, and in addition to chemical sourcing, offers specialized services such as blending, aqueous dispersions, grinding, micronizing, special packaging and toll manufacturing.
U.S. Chemicals has also expanded its reach outside of the U.S., locating reputable sources for quality chemical products, and monitoring worldwide fluctuations in supplies and pricing to assure maximum price competitiveness.
