ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY: Ensures delivery of excellent customer service through accurate and fast processing of sales orders. Provides logistics support for domestic and international movement of petrochemicals in trucks, railcars, barges, ISO’s and drums. Communicates and coordinates with other departments and partners in order to fulfill customers’ needs. First point of customer contact for general inquiries, like product availability, pricing, shipment scheduling etc. Builds and maintains business relationship with clients and suppliers by providing prompt and accurate service, so as to promote customers loyalty and suppliers’ goals achievement.   • Receive orders via phone, e-mail, and fax, and enter into the Chempax Database.

  • Place purchase orders and confirm sale/buy prices with designated Sales Execs and Customers.

  • Purchase product directly from manufacturers and chemical distributors, ensuring all customer specifications are guaranteed and executed

  • Coordinate all paperwork: including confirming orders, releasing order for shipment, certificate of analysis, warehouse instructions, special instructions.

  • Arrange shipments with carriers. Arrange equipment, loading/unloading scheduling and requirements, including procuring trucking when required, shopping for best rates, communicating all details for successful, timely delivery, proper hazmat signage

  • Communicate with customer on shipping schedule, pricing, product/shipping documentation, sample request and loading requirements, and order confirmation.

  • Trouble shooting service issues, potential and real, including checklists, liaising with Sales Executive, suppliers, truckers and process any ensuing corrective actions and apprising customer /Sales Executive of any changes to delivery dates, product issues.

  • Back up logistics for purchased materials, both domestic and imports ensuring all forms and documents are filed with brokers, ISF, shipping docs, tracking products from originating port to warehouse/customer, procuring port pickups and notifying warehouse of incoming product, as well as communicating pay dates with accounting

  • Prioritize efforts around projects to yield maximum strategic value and profit. 

  • Work with accounting staff regarding invoicing / credit issues to expedite all orders

  • General administrative tasks, i.e. maintain and update system database regarding customers, products, suppliers, pricing.




  • Self-motivated, independent working style, drive for results

  • Effective communication, organizational, planning and time management skills

  • Agility and comfort with computer tools, including business management software and MS Office suite.




  • Full Time, Darien, CT Office based with limited day trip travel potential.

  • Compensation: Base salary with potential for bonus based on individual and company performance.
